Kumi Hope for Girls and Women Initiative Uganda (KHOGWIN) is a community-based, nonpartisan, and nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering girls and women in Kumi District, Uganda.
Established in 2024, KHOGWIN was founded to address the persistent gender inequalities and deeply rooted social norms that hinder women and girls from realizing their full rights and potential.
KHOGWIN works through pro-poor, community-driven programs, leveraging partnerships with District Local Governments and development partners to implement sustainable, context-specific solutions that uplift and empower women and girls.

To empower girls and women by providing education, advocacy, and community support, fostering an environment where they can thrive, lead, and achieve their dreams. We promote gender equality, health, and economic independence through resources, mentorship, and opportunities.
To develop sustainable programs that address the specific needs of girls and women, equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and support necessary to overcome challenges and succeed in all aspects of life.
Membership is open to all Ugandan citizens without discrimination based on race, sex, health status, religion, class, or political affiliation.
The executive committee is responsible for vetting new members.
Promote local economic participation through mentoring, cooperatives, and small businesses
Facilitate leadership and management training within rural communities.
Raise awareness on gender issues to increase women’s participation in community development
Provide comprehensive support, including sponsorships and vocational training
Increase knowledge and awareness of HIV/AIDS among community members.
Promote energy-efficient practices and advocate for local ecosystem protection.
